Autumn on the Cornish coast
A different pace on the Cornish coast.
As the season turns, the Looe and Polperro coast takes on a gentler rhythm. The mornings are cooler, the light softer, and the harbour and lanes quiet enough to really enjoy. It's the time of year for unhurried walks, a long lunch somewhere warm, and evenings settled back at a comfortable holiday home.
Foxes Lair and Hedgehogs Home at Granite Henge, Trelawne Cross, make an easy base for it all — near enough to Looe and Polperro for harbour mornings and an evening out, far enough out to feel properly away. A few days in autumn can be just the reset you need.

September escapes with a little pool time
An early-autumn break is one of the loveliest ways to use the pool. The days are still long enough for a swim and a relaxed afternoon, the evenings are just cool enough to make a warm evening indoors feel like a treat. Guests at both Foxes Lair and Hedgehogs Home share the outdoor heated swimming pool at Granite Henge.
Pool season: open 1 May – 30 September.
The pool closes at the end of September and is closed throughout October and November. It is shared between properties at Granite Henge and is seasonal, not available year-round. Neither Foxes Lair nor Hedgehogs Home has a private hot tub.
October and November: walks, village visits and relaxed evenings
Once the pool closes, it's all about being out in the cooler, clearer air — and settling in somewhere warm at the end of the day.

Quieter harbours and villages
